What Happens Next

We'll be in touch as this will allow us to discuss your specific requirements and understand more about your
riding goals and aims.

What do I need to wear?

  • We do not require our riders to wear breeches or jodhpurs if you would prefer not to, but you should wear long comfortable trousers or breeches

  • We also suggest you wear a top that covers your shoulders so should you fall off you have some protection

  • A short or long boot with a smooth sole and small heel. Caterpillar boots are too chunky and jeans can rub on the seams in all the wrong places! Trainers are not acceptable footwear and we cannot allow anyone to ride in trainers – as your foot could easily become wedged in the stirrup

  • A suitable, fitted riding hat that has current Kite marks:

and-helmets/

  • It is also advisable to wear gloves if riding during the winter months, as your hands can get cold.

Once you have completed an initial 30min lesson and we know which of our horses are
suitable for you, you can book further lessons with us.

We use Fresha for our lesson booking management and to manage our rider information.

Rider Suitability, Payments, Cancellations & Insurance

We can only cater for riders over the age of 18 and we do have a weight limit of 12 stone for Aragon our 15hh horse and 13 stone for our other school horses.

We also ask that you pay for your lesson when booking as this ensures the horse is available at the time you wish to ride. This is usual done by bank transfer. If you would prefer to pay by card we can e-mail you an invoice.

At least 36 hours notice is required for all cancellations, otherwise the full lesson fee will be charged as we are not able to fill the lesson slot.

Riding is a high-risk sport and while we take great care to minimise the risk and have public liability insurance in place, we do advise all riders to also ensure they have adequate accident insurance when riding.  A number of companies offer this including the NFU and Harry Hall. The British Horse Society also provide insurance cover as part of their Gold Membership for horse riders.
